A collector of random facts and a writer of too-long stories. Not sure where I'm going with this yet.

Alex: How did you get to do Doctor Who?
Mark: I was asked to do it. I didn’t even have to audition, they just asked me to do it. That’s probably because I was on a series called Battlestar Galactica and a series called Firefly and a series called Dollhouse which were known to the writers and producers of Doctor Who. I probably had the coolest role in Battlestar. It was the hardest, strangest role I’ve ever done.
There is a bar near my house that I am a regular at. Lots of famous people en up there, including John Hamm & the pretty redhead who plays the young maid on American Horror Story. But my favorite encounter of all was Matt Smith.
I don’t even see him at first, I had been in the bar for a while talking with MU friend Lauren and it was really dead. Some British gentlemen came in from the patio and they were all super charged and talking loudly.
One of them came up to me and my friend and asked if we had the number for a taxi, and as I went to tell them I could get them one, I noticed Matt Smith standing in the back being very aloof—I of course had to make sure I did not stare.
They bought me a drink to thank me and we all chatted while they waited for their taxi to arrive. At some point I noticed a mousey nerd girl start stating at Matt and I thought to myself, PLEASE DO NOT RUIN THIS FOR ME, YOU STUPID BITCH.
And then she went right up to Matt Smith and started to gush. I’m not sure why I did what I did but it just seemed to make sense, so I went with it, grabbing Matt’s hand and saying, “Honey, should t we go outside? The cab should be here soon.”
Matt smiled and headed for the door while his friends thanked me for intervening.
Too bad they didn’t realize I did it because I wanted to totally capture him and tie him to my bed like in Misery.
On a separate note, this article is super cute.
Firefly, Dollhouse, and Battlestar. Flawless Victory.
